What we do
Every year, the Kiwanis clubs of Long Island hold multiple fundraising events throughout the year. These fundraisers allow us to better the lives of the children in our community. Some examples are:
Halloween Window Painting – for the past 65 years, the Kiwanis Club of Sayville has provided materials for art students from Sayville Middle School and Sayville High School to decorate the windows on Main Street in Sayville with Halloween themed art; take a look with you visit!
Thanksgiving Meals – each year, the Kiwanis Club of Sayville provides complete, pre-made and pre-packaged Thanksgiving meals to local soup kitchens, churches and food pantries.
Holiday Party – each December, we hold an invite only holiday party for those in need. The day includes a meal complete with dessert, a visit from Santa and presents for the children.
Kamp Kiwanis – each summer, clubs select some students for a week long experience at our summer camp upstate in Taberg, NY. This includes transportation and traditional camp events such as sports, arts & crafts, swimming and boating.
Scholarships – each summer, we give out scholarships to graduating high school seniors in our local area. These scholarships are available for both colleges and trade schools.
School Supply Drive – before school begins in the fall, the Kiwanis Club of Sayville collects school supplies from a list provided by our local schools, stuffs new backpacks and distributes them to those in need.
K-Kids, Builders, Key Club and Circle-K – our service leadership programs in schools help kids to develop leadership skills and participate in community service opening doors for them to change the world.
